Company History

Mayer Built Homes, Inc., originally established by Kurt Mayer in 1957 under the name of Mayer & Peterson, was incorporated in 1964. Kurt Mayer operated the company until 1981 and built several thousand single family homes and several hundred multi-family apartment units in Washington, Idaho and Colorado.

In 1981, Kurt Mayer retired from building for health reasons. In 1992, Mayer Built Homes was re-established by Joe Mayer, Kurt's son, with his father's assistance. Since 1992, Mayer Built Homes has built almost one hundred single family residences in Pierce County, Washington and has developed raw land for subdivisions. Mayer Built Homes takes pride in our family-run business, based in Tacoma, Washington for over forty years.
